Re: 1940 Packard 160 Inner Trim Rings

I am quite certain that the taillights on my 1942 Packard 120 convertible coupe have not been changed from senior to junior taillights. The only scenario I can picture that occurring would be if the car had been in an accident, requiring replacement.

I have a 1942 Packard 120 convertible which needs restoration and is original. It has the junior taillights, although I have seen ones with senior taillights.

I am looking to buy a set of trim wings for a 1942, model 120. Does anyone know if the 1942 trim rings are the same as those used for the 1940's?

Yes there is. Google the website for Yesterday's Radio.

Appears to me that someone customized a 1953 Clipper with a 1951/52 grille.

I don't need another 1956 Caribbean set-up, but I fail to see one in the photos. Maybe I need new glasses.

The seven passenger has been on CL for many months -perhaps more than 6. The earlier listings had a photo of the car and it appeared quite decent, although it may need paint. There really weren't enough photos to judge the quality of the work. In any event, I don't think anyone interested in the car would judge quality by photos. I don't recall the earlier asking price but seem to recall it was over 12,000.

Mal, I think they just used a different intake manifold, probably produced much later. I am jammed with work, but will try to post a photo sometime in the near future. Louis

I have an unrestored 1942 Packard 120 convertible coupe which needs a total restoration, but is solid. It came from CA and someone long ago made a modification with the intake manifold - now has dual carbs. It has 120 tail lights, although I once had been told most of the 120s had the senior tail lights. I need to check the vent windows, etc. I plan to leave the manifold as is.
