Sounds like a scam. I've asked members of the Packard group to "check out" some vendors. That can be providing references or even going and checking out the parts. The latter way did turn up a scammer and that was about 20 years ago. About the time inmates reading Hemmings started answering ads. Just out of boredom I'm sure.
Anyway the first year for Packard overdrive. (Econo-Drive) was 1939.

I have recently acquired a jr trunk rack for my '39 120. It is missing one straight stainless trim strip. Does anyone have one (or more) for sale?
Regards,
Gordon

Joan and I are are very saddened to hear of Don’s passing.
Don had a very positive impact on the Packards International Club and especially the PI Membership Meets. He was always very welcoming, enthusiastic and contributed so much to the Membership Meet weekends. It didn't quite make "The Top 10", but we thoroughly enjoyed Don's rendition of the "Packard Blues", a humous lament about restoration costs and difficulties,
On a personal note, when Don told Joan about Piecemakers, he started an annual tradition for us at the PI Membership Meets. Joan buys fabric I buy greeting cards and we both enjoy their homestyle lunches.
We will toast Don’s memory Oct. 10.
We will miss him.
