Sadly the car shows about 12 of those incidents...

In the 52 model year, where there any models without 'teeth' in the grille? My 52 300 does not have them, so I'm wondering if my chrome was replaced with a different year...

What years did your dad work? That would be the years I would be looking for, the possibility he actually worked on the car.

In 1952 the 300 was available a two tone dark green on top of light green. I found the following paint chip pdf and another rebuild that is similar in color.

Dark Green: DAL-41164-DQE GALLANT GREEN POLY
Light Green: DAL-41165-DQE ASPEN GREEN

I've attached both files. Thanks in advance!

My Packard made it to the fairgrounds and back! My generator rebuild isn't doing the job. I'm considering going to 12V, I don't feel like putzing with the 6V system any longer. I've had the generator and voltage regulator professionally rebuilt. It puts out 7.4V and the battery is new. When I got home, the battery was completely dead. I didn't idle much, drove about 30-40 mph the entire trip.

If anyone is interested, I captured over 300 photos from the Back to the Fifties car show, which hosted 11,745 cars this year:

I brought my oil pan into a local welding shop where they cut out my crappy welds and brazed in two new pieces of metal ($30). Now I have a functioning transmission oil pan!

phsnkw-

That's the question, isn't it...the pan didn't come with documentation.

Randy -

Yeap, it's a great show, 64 and older only. Most are rods and customs, but some very nice originals roll through the gates as well. Here's some pictures:
