Been a while, but I'm back on the Clipper project. Currently I'm working on the frame, so I can put the body back on. As long as the frame is off, it's really easy to do all the brake/fuel lines and clean and paint the frame.
I've been on the fence about the transmission in the car. It works, but not flawlessly. My ultimate vision for the car is a highway cruiser with the wife and kids so overdrive is very desirable. Bob Bendtsen's Shop is about 1 mile from mine and he's now making an adapter for a Chevrolet automatic tranny. So, I've decided that the Ultramatic has to go and in it's place will be a 700R4. I pulled the motor and trans to more easily clean up the frame and whatnot. Question1: As long as the motor is out, should I do the Olds pump conversion? Question2: What's the going rate for a used Ultramatic Transmission?

Pushed the body outside and got the frame back in the shop for some much needed attention last weekend.
First thing was to straighten a cross member on the back of the frame. Looks like someone tried to hook onto it to pull something with the car. It's now straight enough for my needs. I still need to weld up a couple of cracks that resulted from the original damage.

Well, it took a lot longer to get here than I had planned, but I finally rolled the Clipper into the booth today and sprayed the entire underside with Rhino Linings. I am very happy with how it turned out. The average thickness is around 150 mils. And I calculated that I added about 82lbs to the car. That should provide some great sound deadening and insulation value.
I plan to spray the entire floor pan and trunk area inside the car as well, but that will come at a later date. Here's a couple pics of before and after.

Looks Great! I'm jealous. You could never drive a car in bare metal here in MN.
How many of those strip discs have you gone through?

Thanks for the encouragement!
Yes, I've been waiting for a friend that I can talk into holding a dolly while I crawl in the trunk and hammer from the inside. One of those jobs that keep getting pushed to the bottom of the stack.

Yeah, it's an android phone. I like it, but I really need to get a digital camera just for the shop. The lens on my phone is just too small. It takes good pictures in sunlight, but anything inside and the shutter is just too slow.
The dog leg was the last major rust hole to fix on the body (not counting the front clip). Have to take a step back and pick a direction for the next phase.
