It's many years since I assembled the gear lever on my 6th Series but from memory, there is a tab washer that fits around the gear lever ball and engages the slot in the ball. The large cover nut is screwed on to hold it all together. A poor description I know, others should have better information,

I have never seen similar body dimension drawings for the 726/733 cars.

The eight-cylinder Sport (136) had vermillion striping and wheels.

Interestingly, the few 6-cylinder Sports that have survived here in Australia all have Rudge Whitworth splined hub wheels instead of the specified disc wheels and the 236 Sports all have the disc wheels, strange.

West, that is the color for the 8 cylinder Sport. All 6 cylinder first series open Packards were painted Packard Town Blue medium striped with Gold, over black just like the above car. The Sport was not a different color from the other open models.

Refer to the "Facts" book for the first series six in the literature archive on this website.

I have used spray type oven cleaner to clean 1920's Packard aluminum oil pans with excellent results.
I don't if it was lye based, just a regular supermarket product

Those flaps cover pockets in the doors, this is a 1922 Sport 126. there will be minor differences between the different 1922 models

1929 was the first year for chrome plating but only on the exterior, internal fittings were nickel plated
