What was the first year that a vacuum windshield washer was available?

Sounds like a good plan using the old VW 6v +G. The head design on the original 120 is complicated and relies on many contacts.
Quite often the speakers and "tuner boxes" show up on Ebay and are reasonable IF they have not been restored. Put in a "search" on ebay for each separately and you will find them eventually. Also check the "retro modifiers" that show up on this site and on youtube. They have no use for ANYTHING 6volt.

After disassembling my parking light as you directed, it appears the locking tabs were on my chrome retaining ring were were broken and missing.
What is the solution to devising a locking method to allow the chrome ring to engage with the bulb base?

I have removed the lens. I now see the lens does not come out by itself but must be removed WITH the chrome lens holder.

Thanks, Joe.
I'll re-read your detailed post after I "work" the lens out. Lowell

1. How do you get the lens assembly out in the first place?
2. What are the "nubbs" on and what are the "tabs" on? If one cannot get the assembly dissembled, it is hard to follow the tabs and nubs procedure. 3. Am I to understand the sequence of components laid out in the photo the incorrect assembly sequence? 4. I have twisted these lenses to the breaking point after liberal applications of Kano oil and I do not yet see any progress on my part.. 5. IF and WHEN I get the lamp assembly apart. how is the top chrome spear removed? Thanks for you attention.

If one takes a vacuum reservoir cans out of a junkyard car with retractable headlights (like the old lincolns), it will give a reliable vacuum supply. Many other cars have small reservoirs for operating H/AC controls which MAY be sufficient. They can be mounted in hidden areas (for the purist). The closer to the wiper, the better (like under the dash). Also use new hoses, as large as possible.
