I was able to purchase the ground wire on Ebay - in fact . I bought two - cheap and made exactly like the original. Still need to buy the hot lead wire , also available on Ebay.

I am rebuilding a spare distributor I purchased - a Delco Remy 1110811 - May use it instead of the one on my car. 1948 Deluxe Touring Sedan - How hard is the removal and reinstallation of the Delco distributor ? Will it effect the timing ?

Thanks Wesley - After removing my old Delco Remy coil today , I discovered the incoming ignition wire is broken where it fastens to the negative terminal of the coil. Something else to repair -

Are both the points adjusting screw and the hold down screw removable ? I am told my points adjusting screw is missing - Supposedly, the adjusting screw is affixed to the breaker plate and is not removable

I think there are two of the distributor flex wires - one to the points and one to the vacuum advance - Right ?

It's no wonder my 48 wont start - the flex wire has a piece of tape around it , and the adjustment screw for the points is missing -
