One of the benefits are the nice people you meet and in my case I have learned a lot of the history of my Clipper from people who knew the original owner and even the son of the owner of the dealership. As Randy said the orphans attract a lot of attention and your car is not mistaken for any other . They do not get lost in the crowd.

Not on my hood as the value of the picture would be less than the cost of the possible cost of hood repair. All the car manufactures came up with a part of the car to sit on called a seat most are softer than hoods, premium cars were noted for much better grade of seats. Your car do as you feel is correct

Just a quick update last week 10/10/10 easy date to remember took my clipper out for first drive and car cruise one of the last of season along with best other no big problems being the first time I had driven my Clipper as all times before my brother had done the driving and I followed. Lots of comments I have since then received the bullets or bumper guards back from the chrome guy nice job and not to bad a price $180 for both. Still lot of little things to complete or adjust. Still waiting for the seat covering to be completed suppose to be done now Nov 1.

I'd like to have one in a solid dark color but I like strange things to each his own sure it would be the only one at a event also not many thieves would want to steal it

More progress this week as most of chrome trim back on windows all back in and rear glass was installed which was the job we were most concerned with as manual wanted the use of rubber mallets on glass a idea not to my liking. We installed it with no breakage which was the goal. The new Diamondbacks were installed and balanced supercharger installed. After all the above car was driven back to my home for final work of the interior and little tweeks .
It was great to have my brothers help with all the chrome and window work and the support from Randy.

Hawk wiring harness would create another problem as hawks have a direct reading oil gauge with tubing and hose to connect to engine oil gauge no wire for the electrical gauge used on senior Packards.
