I didn't mention that it is the front parking/turn signal bulbs (my bad).

56 Executive Turn Signal Bulb Replacement

I need to replace the turn signal bulbs on a 56 Executive and don't want to crack the plastic lens. I can see two screws from the front grille area and a small nut on the inside of the fender. There must be another fastener that is not readily apparent to me. Can anyone help?

I know that this whole thread has been a great learning experience for myself and I'd hope for others. One thing is still remains if someone would be so kind as to help. That is if you choose the GM mechanical switch, do I leave the old non-functioning hydraulic switch in place, or do I bypass it with a new brake line (a lot of work for a non professional)?
I just have to wait until I get my Packard back to actually implement my chosen option. Bob

OIC...I guess I got them confused. I have to see how industrious I am to fashion a bracket or to mount the relay. I do like the GM mechanical switch, though, so simple and not dependent on hydraulics.
I'll know better when I get my car back. Thanks for all of your help. I hope to return the favors, Bob

I am convinced that the mechanical switch is the way to go. If the simple change of one type of brake fluid for another will render the switch inoperative, why set myself up for failure. My Packard has endured these 54 years, why not another?
One question, does the brake light switch kit come with all the necessary mounting hardware and instructions? Well, one more...Do I leave the original switch in place when installing the new mechanical switch? Bob

Thanks for the hot tips. The mechanic has the long weekend off and I will relay all of this to him.
I have a feeling that I'm probably going to replace the stop light switch, sooner or later. The only thing that I must decide is, should I try the replacement 'hydraulic' type, or go with the interior 'electronic' type switch? I would think that the protected, inside switch would tend to be less trouble. Bob

The two white-knobbed switches are of the pull-down and push-up type (the left one, when pulled down, lowers the rear-end while the right when pulled down raises it). It looks almost original, but the small toggle switch looks a little more up-to-date.
The mechanic, who has the car, has repaired the starter, but couldn't locate the stop light switch. I'll forward these messages to him and I'm sure your help is greatly appreciated, it is to me.

I can make the torsion leveling system raise and lower the rear end manually by two white-knobbed switches just to the left of the emergency brake. I don't know if the leveling system works 'automatically'. The car wouldn't start and is being repaired now. I did replace a 'blown' 30 amp fuse, but the others were ok.
There is also a small toggle switch to the left of the manual switches. I don't know what this does (there's a lt-green wire connected on either side of the switch (one of which has a disconnected black wire attached).
