41 - 120 Converible Coupe
#51

Gar
I just purchased a 41 coupe that needs "some assembly and painting required".

Three questions:
1-Is there a illustrated manual that covers assembly of trim and interior?

2- What color should the roof tops bows be?

3 - Is the wood that is attached to the windshield easy to replace?

Thank You
Gar

Re: 1927 trans and stop light question

Owen:

Thanks for the fast reply and for clarifying the stop light question.

My two pictures of the transmission's overdrive unit and the large (timing like) chains did not come out. The two sets of double chains were about 2" wide and are controlled via an electrical switch.

The unit appears to drive a gear that is in front of the original transmission.

I appreciate your help.

1927 trans and stop light question

I am looking at acquiring another 1927 433 4 door sedan.

Two things that seem a bit Frankensteinish to me is that:
1- it has two sets of stop/reverse/running lights (rt and lf side of the car) and a red STOP center mounted on the bumper as well.
2- It has an overdrive button and the transmission has a chain driven overdrive on the transmission.
Were either of these items a custom option?

Thanks
Gar

I would also go big on the wire from the generator to your ammeter.

I use a #10AWG which is good for 30 amps.

Most generators, when working properly, 'should' put out 20 amps but why take a chance and melt a wire or short out a circuit or worse?

I have used the POR15 as well. Still good after 5 years.

Rebuilding is a good option as most(all) of the alcohol has probably evaporated. If you shake it, you should hear something internally sloshing around, if not that is most likely the cause of your problem...

Thanks
