Mike the wire immediately underneath the zip-tie. What is that being used for power? It may be an optical illusion here at my end, but it looks curiously like an ordinary lamp cord?

I personally would not sleep well knowing there is evidence of a potential fire hazard. Disconnect that ground when you are not around the car.

I ended up replacing my entire harness when I did my 55.

Participated in the Dual in the Desert II in Tucson and my darling presented herself very well. My bride and I had a good time as well 'stay-vacationing' at the hotel.

I also met Jim from Manitoba Canada and we had some good conversation about Packards. Jim hangs out here on packardinfo web page and he is privileged to own and drive a '53 Mayfair. Take a look in the owner's directory. A fine looking original for sure.

So, guys and gals.............life is short........get out there and drive your PACKARDS!

Maybe an alternative to sending transmissions to the east coast? First I've heard of this vendor.

Just adding a couple 'before and after' trunk pictures of my '55 400 to help give others ideas of the possibilities. The last picture was taken when I purchased the car, in what seems today to be like another galaxy very far away from here.

May Mr. Neal's family find some measure of comfort in the knowledge that he brought joy to so many people around the world. His writings will long be treasured.

1940 110 did run when parked extra engine trans
http://southbend.craigslist.org/cto/4789116464.html

"Did run when parked ....." Is that akin to saying something like.......did breath before dying?

The '40 will need a very committed suitor willing to enter into a long term relationship.
