Re: 1949 Packard should i pull the trigger

Good Morning...You/we seem to be learning about this car's condition little by little by little. Even with a $4,000. price, the car might well end up to cost as much as a nice one ready to enjoy. I wonder, do we have a member on Packard Info who would be willing to go take a look for the cost of gas and render an general opinion? One look is worth a thousand photographs and one photograph can be worth a thousand words...Ernie in Arizona

1949 Exterior Rear View Mirrors

Good afternoon all...We have a 1949 Deluxe Four Door and it has one little after market clamp on exterior rear view mirror on the driver's door. It is sort of 'Un-Packard' if you know what I mean. Can someone with more knowledge than I post a photograph of what a set of such mirrors looks like. I can find them for the 48's but not the 49's. Thanks, Ernie in Arizona

Good afternoon...It often takes a good few trips around the block to get a 'New' Packard sorted out so that you trust the old girl...they really do want to please you...you just have to listen and observe and make the necessary changes and repairs one at a time until you are happy with her and she with you! Absolutely, Mal...YOU are the reason that we have 1900 Automobiles registered. I do wonder how many of our members actually have Packard Automobiles...

Note to members without a Packard currently...please drop us a line...it would be nice to know how many actual Packard Automobiles are owned by members and NOT registered.

Ernie in Arizona...only one Packard!
