Good Morning...The 'Flackmaster', David Flack is the Gentelman that you need to speak with. After David, then Kantar and Max Merritt would be two more good sources...Ernie in Arizona

The whistle on our 49 still causes strange stares and comments at the gas station. Ernie in Arizona

Good Morning...You should start a restoration thread as many of us will be interested in what you are doing. It may not be stock, but it does mean that another Packard is on the road...Just my humble opinion...Ernie in Arizona

The flackmaster is rarely incorrect. An incorrect or after market oil filter canister could easily be the problem as they were extra cost on most Packard Automobiles. Yours could have been from an outside supplier when the car was new or perhaps a respectful second or third owner...Ernie in Arizona

Good Morning all...Most interesting photograph of the young lady snoozing on the lawn lounge! She has no idea that she is being photographed and that we will be remarking about her over one half a century later! Just delightful! Ernie in Arizona

Re: Single-Action Rear Shocks

We ended up using light truck shocks from NAPA based on the length of the shock and the weight of the car for our 49 deluxe. They work great. We combined them with new rear springs from Eaton Detroit Spring and those springs fit just perfectly. They were shipped to me in Arizona with just a toe tag on them. A little box came along with the springs that had the rubber parts in it. Ernie in Arizona
