Not found under the seat; but how about finding something from the factory, from underneath the trunk mat in a 1955 Packard?
I found this hard stock paper union flyer underneath my 400's trunk mat years ago while I was restoring her. I think it would be interesting to have been a 'fly on the wall', and listened to those worker conversations from that era.

35 Packard Twelfth Series - 144 inch WB - Model 834

Sharing some pics from a 35 Packard twelve I saw in Tucson this past week. I understand the vehicle has been sold and is being sent to New York to a new owner. A complete vehicle that was hidden up in Catalina AZ for years. What a wonderful gem she was. Not many of these are left and probably very few were made at this point in the depression. Anyway......... Enjoy.

Yes Howard, exactly as you questioned. I acquired Packard parts and repaired the rear u-joint as normal. Front joint is GM style as also noted given the 4L60E transmission conversion.

Back on the road again. I acquired all the hard parts, seal and did repairs as you all suggested and guided. I am just done taking her out for a 10 mile drive. All looks, feels and sounds good. I also gave it a new fill of gear oil too. I'm lucky to have a 6' deep automotive pit here at the house in my garage. (I thank the prior homeowner whoever he was).
Feels good to be driving the 400 again.
