As soon as it gets to its new Pennyslvania home, I will be sure to add it to the registry!

Thanks again Sir!

Anybody have any suggestions for a coast to coast, (CA-PA) transport. Car is rough, and cost a major factor, so I believe an open carrier fits my needs. I have used an on-line tool and it appears that $1,100-$1,200 will get it done. Is this reasonable, or trying to scam me?

Thanks,

Ray,

Scrap yard, no way! Anything can be saved...., just look up my project blog. Although I have a family history, I just can't imagine selling this fine automobile for scrap. I WILL have a '55 Clipper, (eventually). But the wife says that mine has to be a little further along, (like done, HA). Enjoy, and on with the pictures!!

only mildly related, but are the Egge pistons frowned upon?

Wow, no updates since January, I am horrible. Now granted there has not been a lot of work to update on, but SOME progress was recently made:

Cowl back on, VERY rough fitment of the doors, so that I can figure out the top pieces.

Drivers side top piece fabricated, (out of poplar for ease of work)

Passenger side wood removed, once I got over the thought that I could save any of it.

Time to start work on the PAX side rear wood.

--Just when I thought that I had made some good joinery, I take out some original and find multiple direction sliding dovetails! Come on Packard, no way I can duplicate that!

GOTTA LOVE THE DATE: 5/26!!

part # 126145 - is shown in my parts manual fitting 2nd-5th series as well.

part # 132145 listed as 3rd-5th.

My manual only goes through the 5th series.

prototype A-pillars. Pine was definitely the way to go, I still went through about 5 2x6s to get two 50" pieces, but they fit beautifully.

The finished piece will be wood, and each car was hand fit. No method of automatation would match the original for cars made months apart by different crews. My method is proving quite successful thus far.

I was celebrating my "failures" not complaining, it is all part of the process. I now know a great deal more about my car's construction than most.
