I inherited a bunch of tools from a friend's father that was a long time auto mechanic. So not sure where you would buy one. But itskind of a cam/gear actuated unit has 8 faces (maybe 6, now that I think of it that all press in when squeezed.

My Web Hosting provider is having a few "issues" today. So please excuse any slowness or non-responsiveness while they work out the problems.

Thanks,

John,

Actually I have never been to NM. Which is surprising with all my travels. I have about 10 different license plates from all over the US that I picked up cheap to use for wall art.

I hope to get to NM some day as I have some good friends in Santa Fe that I am well overdue in visiting.

Good point Brian about the wire thickness. Without having an original to compare to I could not give you an accurate comparison.

Bowman,

The Packard 440 wire I bought came on a 50ft spool. I also bough a box of vintage boots and made my own set so I could get everything the correct length as there are not to many over the counter wire sets that will work on the Straight Eight. Some wires are really short, others are quite long. I also had a proper crimping tool that crimps from 6 sides instead of the cheaper 2-sided crimper.

As with most wires, if you didn't like the markings on them, a little thinner and a rag and be used to remove them.

Jack, sounds like the "2nd Gen" adapters are going to have bullet proof fitament with the CNC milling. Good job!

That is something to ponder Ross. I know they made small tweaks to the motors through the 51-54 years. The most evident is the rise in compression ratio year over year, which I have been looking at lately.

This is because at some point in my car's history someone replaced the 1954 327 Head with a 1951 288 head. Which does have me a bit concerned because of the lower compression ratio of the 1951 288 head over the 1954 288 head. But I guess we shall see how she runs when I finally get her started to see if I need to shop for new head or not.

Makes sense. I was just wondering as I didnt see you post anything about a problem. Do you want to unlock your project thread to cover the rebuild?

BTW, do you know if anyone from OZ is traveling this way for the PI Meet at the end of January? I want to make sure I keep an eye out for them.

Thanks!

Thanks to those folks that have been added Historical Information and additional information the the Dealers in the list. I hope to have another wave of dealers added to the list in the next month or so. Also I plan on some additional upgrades and functionality to the list and the mapping.

Thanks!

Mal,

Were you having a problem with the motor in the '41, or does is it just in need of a refresh?
