Daytona Carb will restore most anything.

I have used them for 4 carb rebuilds. They are very knowledgeable.

Daytonaparts.com is their URL

You could also use a voltage booster to convert 6VDC to 12VDC just for the head lights. Assuming your wiring is in good shape and you have a verified good ground, by going to 12VDC you should be able to realize a large amp light bulb which will give you a brighter light.

If you replace a 2 amp 6 volt bulb with a 1 amp 12 volt bulb, the light (lumens) will be ~ the same. Therefore you need to try and get a 2 amp 12 volt bulb for more light. Most bulb will indicate watts and voltage but the math still works out the same.

Or just install good quality 6VDC LEDs

Summit Racing has a heat shield that is in black and reflects about 60% of the radiant heat from the manifold. It comes in various sizes.
There is also a Velcro option so you don't have to remove the fuel line, and a silver option that reflects about 90% of the radiant heat.

Wire ampere rating for 1940 Super 8

I am installing a fuse panel and want to make sure the electrical devices have the correct fuse size.

Is there a manual that indicates the correct size fuse for the headlights, turn signals, heater, amp gauge to light switch, and cigar lighter?

I can guess based off of wire size but would rather have a document that I can refer to.

Thanks,
(still rewiring) Gar

I disassembled the turn signal switch and was able to determine the feed (white wire),the brake light (black wire) and the emerg flasher (red wire).

Drk Grn & Blu are the left turn signal
Yel & Brn are the right turn signal

I appreciate all of the help.

My rear and front lights have two pins in one socket. Running light and stop/turn light. So I should be good there.

Issue is trying to identify the correct wires with the turn signal, to work correctly out of the my 8 wire selection.

Only wires I have successfully identified is the brake light wire and ground. May take it apart to do a deeper dive...

Heater Fan/Switch question
Home away from home
Home away from home

Gar
If I use a 3 speed fan switch for my car's heater motor, will it make it a 3 speed motor?

I know the switch will add resistance at to make the fan motor go slower, but just want to verify that I won't blow the motor up by adding too much resistance to the motor.

Thanks for your help.
