1935 320 Eight oil pressure consensus

I have been reading everything I can find regarding the proper oil pressure in my '35 320 Eight engine. This engine is a fresh rebuild. At start up cold pressure goes to 55 psi, drops to 29-30 at idle when hot and has a maximum 55-60 psi at road speed hot.
Is this acceptable?
Thank You in advance
Andy

clunk in right front brake 1201

Hi,
before I take the car apart I would like to know if anyone has encountered this similar problem. When I apply the brakes my right front brake makes a "Clunk' noise. With the parking brake on when I rotate the wheel is feels as if the shoes are rocking with the drum, then stop moving. I had the shop that rebuilt the engine check all the brakes and the front drums were turned and the shoes relined. There was a bit of a time crunch to roll the car out of the shop because the shop owner died just as the engine rebuild was finishing up. This brake also locks up when the pedal is pressed hard. I am collecting all the information here and studying my service manual. My experience with mechanical brakes is extremely limited. Thank you for any help.

The sender is not connected because the engine has been removed from the car.I have seen that Button under the dash. It was not until seeing the oil pan off the engine and seeing the sender and float that I realized the car has an oil level gauge. I only had the car for 3 weeks before I sent it off the have the engine rebuilt. Thank you for all the help.

The gauge says gasoline and oil, the oil gauge indicates oil pressure, that gauge is fed buy an oil line off the engine. This is what has us baffled, is the float for a low oil warning? is there an idiot light not hooked or not there anymore?

My 1936 Packard Eight has a float and arm in the oil pan, the float operates a sender on the outside of the pan where a wire attaches. We can not find any warning light that the sender may operate. Does anyone know what the sender concerts to.
Thank You, Andy

Thank you for the photo and the information. The car is going to a shop that has many years of experience with classic cars. I am confident it is going to the best place possible, I look forward to having it sorted out and many years and miles of driving it. I should know next week what the diagnosis is.

adding to the problems

I have much more then cooling problems. I did a compression test yesterday and #4 cylinder has only 60 psi. all of the others range from 94-101 psi. The #4 leaks down fairly fast, all the others hold. I hope I have a valve problem. the engine does not smoke, has a miss and a tick that I thought was a valve. I drove the car for a few hrs Saturday. It seems to be time to address the engine now that I know there is a serious problem, likely time to rebuild the gearbox as I think it needs new bearings. I want the car to be dependable so I can drive the hell out of it. I live in the Los Angeles area and will be looking for a shop I can take the car to. Its been 30 years since I worked in a restoration shop and tore these cars down everyday and put them back together with the end result of the car ending up at Pebble. I don't know if I have it in me anymore to pull the engine by myself, have my wife be involved in removing a hood.....ect. Any recommendations for a shop, or mechanic in my area would be appreciated.I was hoping to get it to the San Marino Motor Classic in June. I still love looking at in the garage.
Thanks,
Andy
