All the AC and heater hoses have been made-up and crimped. All the components have been capped to prevent excess moisture while the system is dis-assembled. The compressor is being removed and the welding of the mounting bracket completed.

Finished mocking-up the AC and heater hoses under the dash, very tight fit.

Finally received all the fittings to make up the refrigerant and heater hoses. Due to lack of room beside the radiator, going to have bend hard lines to get from the condenser connected to the compressor and evaporator unit. Would have been much easier with the car dis-assembled!

Now that the compressor is firmly in place, I'm starting to mock-up the hoses. There is a bulkhead fitting plate mounted on the plate covering the hole left when the original heater was removed. The bulkhead fittings connect the hoses from under the hood to those in the evaporator unit under the dash. The 2 fitting on the top are for refrigerant lines and the ones on the bottom are for the heater hoses. I have a bunch of fittings left from other AC projects, they should help with the mock-up of the new hoses.

Finished the AC compressor mount. Plate on plate to allow adjustment. Need to finish the welding. Got the new longer belt with my "belt measuring device" and the help from NAPA.

I have to say that after the difficulty getting this to fit on my Packard, once on and wired it works perfectly.

While waiting for my AC compressor to arrive, I decided to install the Newport electric wiper motor. If you decide to replace the Trico vacuum motor on your Packard with one of these, don't expect it to bolt right on as advertised. Took some grinding and drilling on their mounting bracket to get it to fit correctly. I doubt that they actually tried to mount one a Packard! Finally got it on but took much longer that I expected.

Mounting the compressor was easier than I thought it would be. Removed the oil filter and mocked-up the compressor mounting plate with some scrap steel decking. The compressor I'm using for the mock-up is a double pulley with narrow belts. For the final belt alignment, I have to wait until the new wide belt compressor arrives.
