JT120 Are you sure? I thought that those were separate units. Both with their own fill and drain plugs.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

"I used "regular old" grade 8 bolts to install the flywheel however bolts designed to be used on a flywheel use heads that are much thinner than regular bolts. He predicts that the clutch forward facing hub surface is sliding against the heads of the bolts and it makes the sound when the clutch pedal is pushed in because that is the time when the clutch is stationary and not spinning with the flywheel and pressure plate."

See Picture below of an installed Flywheel.

That sounds good to me also, just wondering why you didn't reuse the old bolts?

Watch the video a couple of times, and I would guess it is something loose on the clutch plate, maybe one of the springs that take up the shock when the clutch in engaged, or maybe a pad or rivet? But I'm only guessing.
The only throwout bearing that I ever replaced was squealing when operating the clutch, where this sounds like a scrapping noise to me.

Re: 47 Positive Cable to Ground.

Thanks to all, I was just wanting to move it from where it was and I figured this would be a good time to try and place it where it belongs. It was on top of the air pipe ( forward bolt) that directs air into the filler cap. And while changing the oil filter I figured this would be a good time to find its correct home.
Thanks again!

Good going John! I just wondering is there any part that is still original, because it looks like you have been replacing everything, and your doing an excellent job at it.
Keep us posted.

Hi all, looking for a good picture showing the Positive Cable connected to the correct grounding point on the engine. I think it is supposed to be connect at the generator at the pivot bolt, but not sure.
Thanks!

1947 Packard Pickup.

Saw a 1947 Custom Clipper Pickup in Fort Lauderdale Florida at the Antique Car Museum. If you have a full day to spend looking at Packards ( I wish I did I only got to spend two hours.) GO to this museum. 39 Packards to see and dream about from 1909 to 1958 and lots of antiques to look at. The owners Art and Shirley Stone are the founders of this wonderful museum. Mr. Stone has pass away but I got to meet Mrs. Stone and had a very nice visit with her. Checkout their web page for more facts about the museum:http://www.antiquecarmuseum.org
And while I was there a young lady gave a tour of the whole museum, sorry to say but her name has slip from me, I think it was Valerie or Vanessa, forgive me I am horrible with names.
If anything this is a must see for the Packard fans.
Also a 1929 Packard Tow Truck that they redid in 5 or 6 months if I recall correctly.
