Does anyone have a picture of how the side are installed on a 37 Packard 1500.

What do the brackets look like.

Well I did it, bought a 37 Packard 1500 super eight with dual side mounts. Was a barn find and the fellow before me had all the mechanicals completed, but the fuel pump went out just before it bought it.

Question is, will a 495 br pump work on this car. The pump thats on it now is a 494 f series.

For now I am running with an electric pump, but would like to go back to original.

Thanks

Randy

I am looking to buy a 1937 packard 1500 eight.

Couple of questions.

Are the main and rod bearings sleeve or babbitt

Does this engine have a splasher oil system or is it pressurized.

Anything I should look out for as I inspect the car

Thanks a bunch

Randy

Thanks Howard your right I should have been more specific.

My Packard is a 1948 Deluxe Eight Club Sedan

288 Motor with and R9 Overdrive Transmission.

Don't know the rear end ratio.

I was told by the folks at Kanter that it could be part #347536
(with 18-teeth) or #347976 (with 17-teeth), depending on the rear end ratio.

Thanks

Randy
