You are on the Right track Stewart. Complete cleanout of the tubes are one of the most overlooked details on rebuilds and quickly kills a fresh engine.

J-6065 Availability

I've been getting lots of inquiries and thought this would be a good forum to get the word out.

I was blessed to be mentioned in a recent article in the Cormorant on the 55-56 Torsion Level system as the supplier for the J-6065 Torsion Holding tool. I was given a heads up that the article was running, and I should stock up on the tools.

Unfortunately, when I called my tooling shop who does all our CNC plasma and waterjeting, I found out that they went out of business with no notice.

We have sold all stock that we had available and the demand is still coming in steady. We are trying to find a shop that has equipment large enough to cut and form the components, they are quite stout, so it takes a powerful jet.

We hope to have stock in the near future but for now, we are on hold.

Happy Packarding

Milling is the best way to go. you can get them with heavy duty easy out but you will need to invest in several, these puppies are in there and they are deep. Once the heads are milled, the weight will come right off and the bolts can be removed by hand.

$130 is a pretty reasonable bargan. Medium grade paint and clear on a 55/56 runs over $300 qt. for paint and $700 for a gal of clear. High End Show quality runs $4k just in materials.

1956 Exectutive 153k Makes it yearly trek from the Great White North to Florida for the winters.

The car would not drive more than 100 ft. I wonder why..

The Ultramatic has seen better days. I am calling this one Bacon Burnt.

Parts due Tuesday and she will be back to the customer by the end of the week.
