Thank you everyone for your contributions to this discussion.
Naturally my own special interest is in Type 222 Four passenger Coupes (given that the fourth passenger would have had quite an uncomfortable ride) That is especially the late 1923 Production cars.
What with everything else I think that it is simpler to just say that my car had a standard Type 222 body. What it is now, people will no doubt argue about for the next 90 years.

It looks as thought I am going to have to look for a copy of the Kime's Book

Hello
I am sure that this has been asked at least a dozen times before but you have to remember that I am still relatively new to Packards.
Can some one please tell me "What defines a Pullman Body?"

Many thanks
Bj.

Hello
Having had the generator totally dismantled and rebuilt it ( new brushes etc) I have decided that the end (cap) plate that I referred to is a simple flat plate with four screws locating it. This being so I decided the simple answer was to make one.
Job's done!

Thank you for all your interest.

Hi all
I am looking for an end car for the Owen Dyneto Type CE generator on my 1923 Single six. I have never had or seen one but assume that it carries adjustment for end float of the commutator. even a photo of one would assist if I have to make one.

First Owners listing? - Pullman bodies?

Good morning
I am reliably informed that during the teens and early 1920s Packard kept a register of first owners of new vehicles. Are these available? If so how can they be accessed, in particular I would be interested Single Six 126 cars for 1923.

A secondary question.
I have heard that original1920s Packard factory bodies with Aluminium panels referred to as "Pullman" is this correct or what defines a Pullman body.

Thank you O-D
That is exactly the information I was looking for. I initially torqued the head nuts up to 50 and again after about half an hours running now I can take it up to 60 after some more running time.

Hi
I am sorry not to have been back before this but I have a had a few balls in the air. Not the least the ENV preselect gearbox out of my 1934 Lagonda Rapier.

Mal is correct, David McC has sent me a very suitable rim and glass and I have been able to modify the base from the light with the cracked glass to suit so it all under control.

A big thank you to all who contributed.

Bernie J.
