Hi all.

Curious about what all the dimensional differences are between the 2301 and 2302 1949 sedans? I believe (from the model info here) the super uses the longer 127"WB, but I cannot find the other metrics such as overall length, weights, and such. Anyone had that handy , standard vs. super? Thanks!

(I wonder if that is in the Neil book...)

So can the original 6v generator charge two 6v batteries? Then you could leave all of the car 6v, but also run your aftermarket 12V AC across two batteries? I think I need to draw out a wire diagram. LOL

Good info. thanks!

Sitting in the car, how would I know if it was originally the gearstart ultramatic? Different selector indicator?

Is the 1954 359ci a 9-main bearing? And what all is special and unique about it?

I recall that the 1954 ultramatic trans is unique? I do not recall how it is unique. But is it especially fragile, or difficult to service, if required? (Parts, etc)

Thanks, all!

Thanks!

Is there any way to tell if a 51-52 200 288/327 is hydraulic lifter?

Hey Packarddom!

When did Packards get hydraulic lifters in the L8's? If it did not happen all at once, when did each displacement get hydraulic lifters? Curious. Thx

Hey all.

Curious if there is any effective way to trace where you Packard has been, akin to a CARFAXX? Like where it came from or what states it has called home? I assume a carfaxx would be pretty useless, yes? Just curious.

(yes, assuming it does not come up on the registries here on PI or other Packard sites...)

thanks
Mike
