I have used these gizmos in my 38 to power a radio and a backup camera (just to make sure I used a separate unit for each.) You can ground your radio, camera etc directly to your chassis ground. simple 3 wire hookup. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-6-8-12-Vo ... 084b6e:g:6QUAAOSwl9BWKXZF

I have the Delco front shocks on my 38 1601. Is there a left and right shock and if so how can you tell the difference? I can't seem to find part numbers

You shouldn't have to add any antifreeze at all. T would do a compression check. Bubbling in the radiator would indicate a faulty head gasket. Is there white smoke while driving? A leaky head gasket doesn't always show up in the oil.

For anyone in the Delavan WI area there is a 1950 Packard motor and R11 transmission on Ebay and the bid is only $200. I don't know how to post a link but just search for 1950 Packard motor and transmission. Auction ends in 2 days. If it were closer to me I would snag it just for the transmission alone

You can get one for a lot less than $200 For the number of times you're use it a cheapie from Harbor Freight or a $70 Ebay one will do the job. Also check your local parts place a bunch of them have loaner tools. Just look it up Amazon has a Kauplus universal puller for $70- I think it's the same one I use and it works great.
