I remember reading about those economy runs and some of the tricks the drivers used. Tires pumped up to be rock hard, accelerator pumps removed from the carb and coast (engine off) down to about 5 MPH then slowly speed up to about 35 and then coast again plus a few other things that I have forgotten

What I do is to put one jumper cable directly to the starter bypassing the solenoid turn on the key and then ground the other cable to ground-- you get a spark but that way you are only putting 12 V through the starter and not to the rest of the car.

I have a sealed beam headlight conversion kit for sale. Fits 37 jr. Chrome ring is perfect. I thought I could adapt it to my 38 but no go. $200 and it's yours.

I thought that Marvel mystery oil was the standard "go to" for stuck pistons. I have heard of running diesel in the crank case to clean out the innards.
