Hey guys, anyone have a solid part number to follow... I bought the CS-77 cross reference at Napa ... And mounts don't add up.

Oh! And I didn't have any oil saturation on my plugs, when I pulled them 😐

@fredkanter those were my thoughts exactly! Haha it seems to only smoke after idling... The longer I sit the heavier the smoke.... And when coming to a standard stop sign and accelerating no smoke. My first thoughts were carb and spark. I noticed my car was backfiring at around 65mph. Which is why I switched from autolites to m8's. And problem stopped. I will seek the comfort of my friends at California Carburator tomorrow. Hopefully they can set me straight on the carb. I also spoke with Santa Ana's finest today... And got some options worst case scenario. if I remember correctly, a wet test should confirm ring issues right? I still have my compression readings, if compression is the same with a bit of oil in the chamber, shouldn't that confirm bad rings? Sorry guys, It's been a while since auto class 😩

Alright! So I did a compression test, everything still reads fine. 95psi at every cylinder. Which is consistent with (pre-smoke) readings last year after replacing the head gasket. So no compression has been lost. The M8 plugs all seemed standard, light grey char look at spark ends. I did however notice some oil leaking from the carburator base, I'm assuming from blow-by. I just remembered, I did place 2qt. Of 5-20 oil in it prior to the smoke, I usually use a 30 weight. I'm really fighting the idea of bad rings... But it seems to all be pointing in that direction. Is their anyway of getting around paying $5000 for this fix, that seems to be all I keep hearing from all the shops nearby!

Thanks for the info... I believe it's a dark grey... It's hard to tell, I've accelerated at idle and doesn't seem very heavy. The only thing I've done in the passed month has been the spark plugs... From Autolite to M8's. I've yet to do any carb work since the cars revival... Ive been meaning to replace the vacuum advance as well. A vacuum pump test showed that it moves and holds but not sure if it's 100%. A friend said it my be bad rings... I'll try a wet test this evening and get some readings before I get too deep.

Hey everyone! Just recently noticed I have pretty heavy smoke coming from my exhaust. Only happens when I'm at a red light for too long. Not during idle but during acceleration... Thought it might be carbon build up. I did the head gasket less than a year ago.... Any thoughts? 49 22nd

Finally pulled the switch out... It broke at the rivets. I used a special glue to hold in place temporarily until the replacement comes. For the circuit breaker... Do the wires attach to the brass terminal or the other side?

It is still unable to post the picture from my iPhone... But the break is between, the circuit breaker and the headlight. Switch .... Right on the L shaped brass peice on the second pic down. If that makes sense. The wiring has been replaced. I'll get over to napa today. Thanks
