Want to buy: Horn button and surround/bezel for a 1929 640. The 645's should be the same. Please see photo for what I'm seeking. (I don't need the throttle lever or light switch.)
Let me know what you have and asking price.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks for looking.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I don't understand your comment, Tim. The lines of the car have not been altered. No "inflato boobs." The body is exactly as Darrin designed it.

Just a note for all of the armchair "experts" out there:

I have seen this car in-person and yes, it is a real 1940 Darrin Super 8 Convertible Victoria. The owner is a multiple nationally award-winning customizer who took a derelict hulk and brought it back to life. There was no engine or interior left when the car was found.

It has been seen in dozens of shows around the country and has always taken "Best of Show", "Best In Class" or "People's Choice" in every showing. The car remains true to Darrin's original design and lines. The only modification to the body was lowering the chassis 4" for a lower profile. The car was expertly done at a cost exceeding $250,000. This is not a "kit car" cobbled together in someone's garage. It is a real work of art. But like all art, some love it and some hate it.

Regardless, the car exposes the Packard name and styling to a new generation, who will ultimately be the next generation of Packard owners - for this car - and maybe even yours.

Re: Packard International Fiduciary Issues

Back in "the good old days" of P.I., when Fred and Carol Mauck were the ambassadors of the club, there was never an issue with P.I. Since the appointment of the new regime, the national (or "International") board has operated on their own agenda with no regard for the regions or their input. Since open elections are not held among the membership, this group has become firmly entrenched with little hope for change.

A larger issue is an "investment account" held by P.I. that contains over $200,000. Most members are unaware that this account even exists. A full accounting of this money is not included in the annual Operating Statement (which is not a complete year-end balance sheet) and some have asked whether loans have been made from this account and who on the board has access to the funds? No answer regarding this account has been offered by the P.I. board.

What has this to do with enjoying Packards? Very little. Other than the fact that the P.I. members deserve to know how their dues are being used. This is but one of several issues that pushed the Oregon region to leave P.I.

Following the Oregon Region's notice of dissolution, the P.I board sent a letter to the Region, revoking their charter (which has been held since 1974) and demanding that no mention of this controversy be made in any public forum (including PackardInfo.com) That the P.I. board deems itself more powerful than the U.S. Constitution and believes it can limit freedom of speech makes one wonder what they are so afraid of? An open dialogue is all that the Oregon Region ever wanted. P.I. felt otherwise.

It's all very strange.
