21st washer jet location

Photo of a 21st series that has a windshield washer. Would anyone care to speculate if the arrow points to the jet. If so it appears it might be outboard of the arm pivots. Does anyone else have a 21st with washer and if so, where are the jets mounted?

First 21st photo I've seen that might show the jets but pictures I've seen of 22nd and later all seem to have them inboard and more centered. Am wondering if this is correct for a Clipper & maybe done because of the one piece electric wiper assy. If it is a jet, should it be more in the middle?? There appears to be room to mount in the middle but I'd like to mount mine somewhat appropriately.

Howard, it does seem like an odd location. Perhaps the nozzle can be directed to the right position on the glass?

I don't know what style the jets were on the Clippers but a couple of later 22nd series cars had some very much like these early 50s Jaguar repros that I am planning to use. They appear to be fairly adjustable.

The washer assy I think based on price and units that were available is also a repro and appears similar to the Packard item except for the pump can being black instead of natural. Even has Trico molded into the bottle. The ebay Jag vendor selling the washer had them listed as being used on Jaguar as well as several 40s to early 50s US cars including Packard.

On my 54th series the jets are inboard similar to the bottom pic, however they are part of the wiper mount. No seperate hole in the cowl.

Same looking jet with the little plastic washer.

I havent found a good replacement for the little plastic washer under the knurled adjuster and I keep making my own.

My 23rd series also has the jet incorporated into the tower. Click to see original Image in a new window

I have no idea if this is correct for the 23rd series or was added later in the cars life. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks for posting. That writeup being from Automotive Digest would seem to indicate there was a postwar push to sell those things. Packards own Service Counselor had a blurb or two reminding dealers it was a new accessory and to sell them to good customers as a safety item and a source of profit. Kind of surprising more were not installed in the 46-50 period.
