O_D, it would be a real pleasure to have a cup of coffee with you. Traverse City might be a bit far, though. At first I too was thinking DeSoto, but quickly gave up on that one, then BDC guessed Willys Knight and some bells started going off. What other marque used the Knight sleeve valve engine? Well, there are a few and after a little thinking I came up with Stearns Knight. Neat quiz, thanks.

Really enjoying the vintage photos. Some of them are as old (or older) as the cars were when the photos were taken. Think about that for a little while.

And few more from the same show... I wonder where these cars are now?

Now look at the lines on the black & orange Duesenberg roadster! That car is gorgeous!

I believe the Delahaye is a 1937/38 Model 135M and coachwork almost has to be by Figoni & Falaschi, masters of the extreme. It's a eyeful to say the least, some have even called it voluptuous or erotic, others gaudy.

Yes the Delahaye is something else. How do the wheels turn with front fender skirts, or does it have a turn radius of a 53ft semi?

I've been really enjoying this thread and love all the older photos! Some look remarkably like Ektachrome rather than Kodachrome, though.

The two M-B cars in post 34 have been identified.

Red one is a 1938 540K.
White one is a 1935 500K.

Hi

The Delahaye pictured above might well be this 1939 165 first shown at the New York World's Fair.

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.
