I just added AMY to the Owners Registry. She is a 1954 Pacific hardtop sedan - this was a one-year model for Packard. Please take a look at her.

She is a factory "special" created by Ed Cunningham the Interior Styling Manager at Packard. His mission was to convince top brass to adopt trendier colors. Five Carnation and Amethyst cars were produced and shown to dealers at the factory. California dealer and board member Earle C. Anthony purchased most, if not all, of them and shipped them to his dealerships in California. Of the five "R-code" cars three are known to exist. One in New Jersey is listed on this site and a third is in Maryland.

She was generous donated to the Packard Motor Car Foundation by Jack & Merna Holmes of Pleasanton, CA and is now on display at the Packard Proving Grounds in Shelby Twp. (fka Utica), MI.

I have attached a photo of the glove box drawer showing the R-code and 324 interior code.

It was said that 50 more cars were approved to be built, but they would have an LE paint code but we have yet to see any LE cars listed. If you do see an LE car, then please post it here.

Thanks
