I think I fixed the windshield wiper motor. I took it apart and it was just all stuck up. I cleaned it, oiled it, and greased it where necessary and put it back together. The gasket was OK. When I connect my battery tomorrow and put it back on to the firewall, I should have wipers that work. Also I found 4 bolts that were not tight and tightened them. That should take care of my oil leak. I installed the 180 degree thermostat thanks to Kanter for explaining "why" to me, changed the gasket and I am waiting for 24 hours to tighten it and put in coolant.

I hope you are right on the wiper motor. Sometimes a good lube will correct things but other times the felt or leather along the sides and end of the paddle has worn so it can't make a good airtight seal. It may go like gangbusters with no load but when it is hooked up and has to pull the wipers then is when any wear will show. We'll keep our fingers crossed but don't be too disappointed if it still has some issues.
