puhaa thank you,

"difficult" was not a word on my wishlist, but I have to get acces to the headlight switch to modify it for german law, for the same reason a lot of work has to be done to connect a hazzard switch, some of the engine wiring should perhaps better be connected in the dash, the radio is not working (only distributor is ratteling) and I?d like to check where the loose clock wire is lost

should I open new threads for each of them or is it ok to continue the story of 2362 2845 just here?)

Michael (Elefant), that's your thread, you are the holder of air supremacy and it is in your hands to determine the direction as long as the talk revolves around your car. Even the one or another excursus is acceptable.
If you choose to restore your car, ask -> BigKev via PM to move the whole thread into the -> Project Blogs area.

-> What are these Project Blogs?

in case anyone comes to this thread whilst searching "distributor" I recommend, that when it is out (very easy job), the grease under the cap on its side should totally be cleaned out and refreshed and the typical service done to the rest. With a litle cleaning up, it looks like new and perhaps will work better!

Very nice indeed to have the definitive proof, there are a fair number of bogus cars out there. I don't have any idea who many true ones are left, I'd probably start by contacting the owners of those that we know are genuine and seeing if they have any info, my pure guess would be perhaps a dozen remaining. I forget, does Bob Neal comment on survivors in his book on the 22nd-23rd series cars?

Now it is done! the golden bathtub passed the german T?V technical inspection and the registration office (allways a problem here to get small licence plates) and is in the road again!

A great big THANK YOU to all helpers here!

WOW! I've heard of balancing a coin on the running engine before but have never seen this happen. I initially thought It would probably be in the urban legend category.....but now I'm totally amazed to see your superior running Packard and to read about your journey to get'er on the road. Well done.

Best Regards,
Steve
