Greetings all. I am trying to wrap up a restoration from hell on my 23rd Series Standard (I think?) Eight. It went in to get corrosion in the floor pan fixed, and while it was pulled apart, I decided to replace the groovy red velour interior that had been installed circa 1975. That was about six years ago. The guy working on it has been incapacitated (stroke), so I'm trying to round up the pieces and start again. The interior is a hollow shell, but the seats and panels have been recovered and are awaiting installation. By the way, it is the designated getaway car for my daughter's wedding in June, as it was for me and my wife 30 years ago.
Sooo- does anybody here know where to get the armrest/end cushions (not the ones in the middle) for the back seat? I tried Kanter, but no luck there, and I haven't seen anything in the other online catalogs that cater to Packards. Thanks in advance for any help, and I'm glad the guy at Kanter steered me to this site- it's a great resource.

G'day JRScout,
to PackardInfo, but sorry I can't assist with your query.

However I invite you to include your 23rd Series Eight in the Packard Owner'd Registry.

It would have to come from a donor car. No one is reproducing those, as those parts are too varied between models to make it with the effort.

Welcome, JR Scout,

Floorpans here, but don't know your model.

Post a Want to Buy in the buy/sell forum.
Send a private email (PM) to David Flack, flackmaster, in Texas and to David Moe at Packard Seattle Co. You've already checked with Kanter. Try Max Merritt. Tucson Packard.
Howard (HH56) has a '47 and keeps up on where to get parts for the late '40s Packards. Bill Hirsch or SMS Fabrics in Canby Oregon may have the upholstery materials you need.

Clarifying the model from your data plate and putting up a picture of what you're looking for might help. Swap meet season is coming up.

Hi; I have a 22 series rear seat which should be the same. I will see if I have time to get a picture on Wednesday- if you can receive texts I can sent them right to you. Going on vacation Friday,if I have your number can try to do before I leave.

yes, on plate 32, parts numbers 30.9476 and 31.46093. It is the armrest that is almost part of the door jamb.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN......
It is a crazy business, restorations, and I am almost convinced that 90% of the restoration guys never really expect to complete the project. On my third one now....At least the work done is absolutely impeccable but, there does seem to be a lack of "just get it done" mentality. Started five years ago to restore a 2126 that I drove in high school so that I could drive it to my 50th reunion. Well missed that one, hopefully by the 55th it will be ready. Hoping you can find the arm rests and as prior comments, donor car is the best place to look. Luckily, mine were intact but needed new upholstery. Best of luck with your plans...you came to the right place for direction.
