Took the Packard to the Startford Mall car show which is sponsored monthly by the Chicago Daily Herald. This had several hundred cars in attendance as we finally had a break from the oppressive heat and humidity.

Here is a video clip showing the size of the show. You can see my blue clipper to his immediate right, the lightpole closest to him run right over my car. It the blue car just above the orange/red Javelin.

Updates on the Clipper:

My existing GearStart transmission, while still quasi-working, has developed a pretty good leak at the gear shifter shaft. So I have a new seal on order to patch it to keep me rolling for a few more months.

The new "Frankin-transmission" aka "GearTwin" aka "56 Twin Aluminum body with 54 GS Cast Bellhousing", is slowly coming along. I have all the control bodies done. Tailshaft seal was pulled out and is being replaced. That was a bear to remove.

Just about to tear apart the Torque Converter to see what condition it is in.

I'll take a lot of pictures along the way when I get into that.

The reason I am patching the leak in the current transmission is to keep it on the road. The local shop here that all the local Packard folks use is backed up pretty good and I doubt they will be able to get me in to do the transmission swap for a while. This is just not something I am willing to tackle myself on jack stands.

Does anyone have any of those tiny push clips that hold that door window fuzzies to the door/molding? I'm missing several of them and because of that, the fuzzies keep work loose over time with repeated window operation.

Get some #4 Flathead sheet metal screws; drill clear through the fuzzy and window frame and then install the screws snugly enough that their heads are buried deep in the nap.

Try Restoration Specialty, I think is their name, they sell all sorts of clip for trim etc. I know I have gotten them before at the swap meet for the window fuzzies on my Pontiac.
I have also used screws like Ross suggested, as he said make sure to get the heads sunk down in the fuzzies so the screw doesn't scratch your glass. I'd suggest stainless screws so they don't rust later.

What we really need here is AC..... John
