Help me remember the diff between 384 30-31 and 35 heads

8/17/18
-Gasket 171952 called out for 1930 thru 1936
-Parts Book photo of 740 engine shows port for Temp Bulb


Assume a 4 bolt dist base can be manufacture so '35 DELCO Dist can be used. AGREE ?

Is coolant outlet inline with radiator inlet ?

1. The early head has a formed water outlet, whereas the late heads have the water outlet that bolts on.
2. The early head has the 4 bolt base for the O/D distributor, whereas the late head has the 3 bolt base for the Delco unit.
3. I may be wrong on this, but don't the early heads have the larger spark plugs?
4. Not sure, but no temp gauge port on early head??
other minor accessory details??
