Hi BDC

No knowledge on its recent sale, but that is the '37 Twelve Ed Blend was driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike years ago, stopped for a bit of shut eye, during the night had to prevent a murderous attacker from gaining access. One supposes even then a full-custom Packard would draw attention, occasionally the wrong type.

That description of the 37 Packard is a lot of crap. Stuhlman was not some kind of big shot collector and the car was done by Hibernia where Cox worked for Turnquist. Somewhere along the way it rolled off a trailer or something and had collision damage. These sales places make up this fluff as though it is somehow important and creates "branding". In reality it sounds ridiculous.

Steve, just wanted to pass along a note of thanks for your constant maintenance to this listing. I read it faithfully and can assure you, if I was ever looking for another Packard, I would use this as a #1 reference. It obviously takes time and attention to winnow through all the listings and post the 'real and relavent' ones - Appreciate your efforts and knowledge! Chris.

On the two 1954 Convertibles, both look nice but each seem to have anomalies, though minor.

The first, of course, has a cast iron head when I believe it's a 359 that should have an aluminum head. Not uncommon but for a restoration one would have expected the proper head which the text does say it has but the photos show a cast iron head.

However, the second I can't figure out how what I see is possible as the oil breather on the filler is wrong and what I can't figure out is how it is sitting at such a peculiar angle. The pipe is straight, attached to an angled hole on the side of the crankcase cover so it should be angled away from the engine! I saw this photo before and wondered the same thing so any ideas? It stands out like a sore thumb.

Cars with power steering got a filler tube with a bend in the middle so that the airstream into the breather was unobstructed.
