1934 Radiator Shutter thermostat replacement

Hello all
my radiator shutters on my 34 are not opening all the way, so I order a new themostat controller in hopes to replace it. I stated to adjust the rod that connects to shutter mechanism and noticed I might have backed it off, now I seem to not be able to thread it back in. Anyone know the process in replacing these.
Thank you

Maybe you'd post a photo of the problem, I've replaced the thermostat on my '34 Eight twice since the 1960s, I don't recall all the details but it was simple and direct and I can't visualize your problem.

I brought a small boroscope camera and was able to see through my phone the receptacle had move to one side and was able to realign and thread the push rod back in "phew". For those that attempt to change the thermostat beware not to
un-thread the rod like I did.
