That number should be the stock 4 way fitting with no extra port for a mechanical gauge if keeping the sender for the electrical gauge and other tubing. Kind of curious how or where your mechanical gauge was plumbed in. I could see possibly adding the standard part #146142 which is the 3 way block fitting for engines without an oil filter into the upper port or maybe use a standard 1/8 NPT tee fitting and an extra nipple plus the gauge fittings. Move the pigtail to the tee and run the mechanical gauge line out of the extra hole. The standard blocks are also Packard made items and not available at local stores but a straight tee should not be a hard to find item.

Any chance you could post a photo of your engine showing how it was done or what extra fittings might be involved. If it was neatly done with an easy to get fitting the person that did yours might have come up with a simpler way than running the mechanical gauge line to the other side of the engine. The usual reason for adding on the rear passenger side gallery is the gauge can be hidden and tubing can be more easily disguised if the car is to be shown. Adding the extra plumbing at the stock location kind of sticks out.

Looks like they used an ordinary compression fitting in the tubing to supply the gauge. I think the SAE flare connections are a bit more secure such as used on the Packard block and less likely to be affected by vibration but I guess as long as it stays tight all is well. The fitting now on the engine is the Packard item. It looks like max used a regular 1/8 NPT fitting and extra nipples and adapters to duplicate the original configuration. It would be noticeable in a tight judging situation but maybe better than not having anything available.

The air cleaner with the horizontal tube is interesting. is the element end supported or is all held by the carb end? Does the horizontal tube portion serve a purpose like the horizontal part of the stock air cleaner which acted as a silencer for the rushing sound of the air flow at certain RPMs or is it more to get the element in a better or more convenient location. If the element end is not supported I would wonder if vibration could be an issue and cause mounting bolt issues with the pot metal in the carb.

Very good question regarding the air cleaner. The purpose could be said (logically) to get cooler air from the front of the engine.....but the plenum looked kind of like the McCulloch supercharger in the 1954 Packard Panther so I gave it a shot...love it or hate it...there is significant vibration though that did separate the filter from the tube so I removed it...the clamp doesn't hold well...the weight distribution is questionable with the plenum heavier than the filter (no support) but it seems ok...It has a Joe's Racing 8 inch 1/4-20 air cleaner stud...but once I put the Holley air cleaner gasket on, everything slid back and forth due to the vibration...correct assumption the carb pot metal might not hold up...I removed everything and put the O'Brien Truckers air cleaner back on...it has their Carter WCFB adapter to 5 1/8 carb air horn/flange/neck and fits nicely.

If you wanted to use the longer cleaner you could always add a brace to support the filter end similar to what Packard used on their large horizontal filters.http://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=195021#forumpost195021 If you wanted the element at the front then if it goes far enough forward maybe use one of the bolts in the water pump area or even use the original brace location by placing the cleaner across the engine it it will clear the oil gauge.
