Do what you need to do to make the car as reliable and safe as possible without making hard to repair changes (if possible). Save all the old parts to put back on if needed to sell the car or return the car to the desired "when you acquired it status". If you're going to drive the car there's not much you can do for safety's sake that you'll get dinged for, but some changes will be of a semi-permanent nature; ie., seat belts, turn signals, etc. I'm sure you will get lots of help and advice as more folks join the forum today. By the way, beautiful, beautiful car.
Regards
Steve Fisher

Walleybones,

If your 900 is dialed in you will find that once your in third gear you really shouldn't have to downshift.. The car should have enough torque to accelerate in third gear from a slow speed without lugging the engine. You should also be able to drive 55mph without stressing the engine. You have to remember that it is a 88 year old car and drive as such. If the car is dialed in it should start instantly, accelerate pretty quick, and steer and stop straight.

I can forward onto you a lot of 900 info so you can read up on your car. Pm me if you wish.
