I had Ross convert my 55 Clipper from an automatic to a manual shift transmission. He replaced the auto trans oil heat exchanger with a hose. I think he has a NAPA part number for the hose he uses. Ross?

Here is a photo of the upper and lower hoses and one of the hoses installed. Sorry, no part numbers.

Put hose in some hot water let it soak for a while it will soften and be more flexible allowing it to fit over water pump

Maybe some trimming of the hose is needed?

I used silicone spray on both pump and inside hose surfaces when I did mine but liquid dishwashing soap would probably work too. It was tight and you do have to use some muscle getting it started. I started at sort of an angle and then worked around getting the hose onto the rough pump casting. As I recall, once a side was started then I also used a thin offset type screwdriver with the blade oriented as circled to sort of work around the hose and help get the hose pried over the lip and started on the casting.

Looks very good room around the water pump

The Clipper did not have power steering. I didn't do any parallel parking. The non-boosted steering worked well. Agree, dish washing liquid is a good lubricant for rubber. Also, Howard's offset screw driver is a good way to get under the lip of the hose and get it to go over the pump.
