Can any one tell me the physical body difference between 526, 533, 443 closed coupe's. Where do they pick up 7 in. On 533 and 17in. On 443.

Comparing the two Six chassis, 526 versus the 533, the seven inch difference is in the firewall-to-rear-axle plane distance. The 526 bodies were built to accommodate that difference, coupes having length taken out of the quarters or on the four door style, deeper wheelhouse cuts. The 2/4 passenger coupe 328 and 2/4 passenger convertible coupe 329 were same other than the stationary versus folding top.

The difference between the 533 Six and 443 Eight, all ten inches is in a longer hood for the 443 to accommodate the eight cylinder engine. Bodies interchange between these chassis as the firewall-to-rear-axle plane distance is the same dimension.

Without any tag to identify whether the coupe you may get is for a 526 or 533, measure the length from firewall to rear axle center plane. Doesn't have to be exact given the seven inch difference. If the length matches you car, its a fit, If not, lengthening or shortening is your option.

The attached Packard body dimension drawings answer the question. In the 5th Series cars the difference is in the length of the bodies for the 2 and 4 passenger coupes. The 443 uses the same body as the 533 Coupe with the extra 10" in the hood. A 2 passenger 443 Coupe is not not listed in the 443 illustrations.
