Description says the one on Hemming's is a Ross Miller creation and there have been several photos posted of other model and years he has done. Believe he favors Clippers as the base so maybe that is the only senior packup.

As for a real factory made Packard pickup, in one of the books there is a photo of what appears to be a stock Stude pickup with the Packard name prominently displayed on the front. As I recall the info with the photo said it and maybe a few more were made at the end times to fulfill some kind of contract obligation in a South American country.

I'd say Ross has made at least a half dozen of them....

So far there are 11 Speedwell Garage Packard Pickups--and counting. Only two have been seniors, a 55 and this 56 Patty.

If you google "Packard Pickup" there are pages and pages of them.

So when do you think the 1948-50 based pickups will be coming out?

I social distanced myself a total of 331 miles yesterday, a beautiful spring day with willows and such just beginning to bud. Took the 53 off to my favorite trails in central Pennsylvania being careful to take as many new and minor roads as possible.

Shot 1, the magnificent causeway leading to the equally magnificent Capitol in Harrisburg.

Shot 2 one of the many east/west valleys that compose central PA terrain. Delightful.

Shot 3, Clippy on one of the higher ridges with the Juniata river valley one ridge further on.

Shot 4 Why we drive Packards.

Hello Ross

Great pics of your travels in these troubled times and your 53 "Packup". I've never cared much for the instrument panel in these earlier Clippers, but I have to say your effort looks fabulous!

In an earlier post, I mentioned that one of the (three) 1956 Clippers imported new to Australia became a pickup ("ute") later in its life. Unfortunately, I never saw it or any pics of it but I do have quite a few spares scavenged from it including the original gauge assembly. Presumably, the remains went to the great crusher in the sky.

I am about to embark on an overhaul of the Treadle Vac brake system on my 1956 Clipper Deluxe. A daunting task for me, but something you seem to accomplish over lunch time without breaking a sweat!

Cheers

Brian
