Joe is right if done authentically but I would be worried of all that might have to be redone.

Exactly, Joe!! The difference between those two cars is significant and the cost of getting the 'parts car' to the 'Hemmings car' condition would probably push $20K; bodywork, paint, motor, upholstery, heck $20K might not even do it! (at least not up here in Canada, in canuck bucks!) Chris. (and Don, when did you get so liberal with your wallet?!?!?!?)

I know but the point is that it makes some of these things very tempting, especially when they're nearby!

I may be mistakingly calling it the butterfly hood with chrome vents on each side.

Technically it's the left or right side Bonnet Louver Assembly.

I personally like the 160 version for design, plus it's what I've got, and it's shinier.

Thank you Chris, but I don't think that it or anything else would make me look good at my age and in my condition! That said, if it had working factory A/C and I had the space for it in my shop I would seriously consider it.

First, Craigslist starts charging for auto listing, then the virus decimates even more of the collector car postings, but we keep searching out what slim pickings appear.

A '53 Clipper Special, looks nice, a bit pricy:

A '39 Six two door coach, ambitious project:

A '58 sedan, engine and transmission out for rebuild, looks solid, offered for sale for a long time:

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.
