On a 1932 Packard 903 Victoria, 384 cu.in. 135 hp. and a high compression head, is it a standard eight or a super eight?
Thanks for any info.

384 cubic inch is the Super Eight, 320 cubic inches the Standard Eight.

So pre 33 they were called Deluxe Eight and after they were Super Eight?

No, not that simple. Models with the 385 cubic inch 8-cylinder (horsepower varies from about 106 to 150) are:

1933-36, Super Eight
1932, Eight DeLuxe (903, 904)
1931, Custom and DeLuxe (840, 845)
1930, Custom, DeLuxe, and Speedster Eight (740, 745, 734)
1929, same, (640, 645, 626)
1928, (4th Series), Single Eight
1927 (3rd Series), Eight

Prior to the 3rd Series Eight the essentialy same engine had a smaller bore and was not 385 ci.

I think I got that right, if not someone will correct me.
