Besides the '35's and '36's you can see in the photo there were a couple of other '37's for parts, but nobody wanted them. Too late anyway, they all went to the scapper today! Besides they were in Mittagong, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA, probably about 8,000 miles from you.

Putting all that aside, GAZZ to PackardInfo. I invite you to include your '37 two door Packard in the Packard Owner's Registry.

Most were beyond saving with rust holding the rust together. Some had engines, most had transmissions and diffs but many had the "jewellery" items removed, they already been scavenged. Saying all that, one of the guys in our Packard club did buy a '50 Sedan as parts and spares for his '49 Sedan, see photo! Pretty well most of the Packards in the Shed had been there for about 15 years and before that they'd sat outside at another property much nearer to Sydney where they'd initially deteriorated. There were about six 35/36/37 120 Sedans, three 38/39 Sedans, the '50 Sedan and a number of '50's Clippers.

Sorry for the thread drift.

Gazz,

Amazing to have a contact half way round the world. Think that the cars have already gone to Packard heaven. If not, I'll try and get a name and contact number for you!

Apparently all may not be lost yet. There's a chance parts and parts of the Packards might still be available! I've passed on your phone numbers to the guy co-ordinating the disposal of these Packards and he will in turn pass it on to the guys who bought them. May not work out, but you never know.

One other thought - Shipping is expensive $$$$$ between Australia and the USA!

RE the photo in post #4, I don't think of that kind of rust in Australia. Is this typical near the coast?

No, not near the coast in this instance. Just the result of a ?? number of years of no storage. Could have been sitting in a very damp environment for a long time. Most of the other dozen or so Packards sitting in the shed had a dried mossy growth over them from their time prior to being in the shed. Of course, in most of Oz, we don't have ice and snow like the US experiences.
