I'm not sure if this is called for, but I wanted to indroduce myself.

My name is Dave. I signed up here due to my ownership of a '58 Packard. Being that my Grandfather was a Studebaker salesman (at Frank H. Afton in Inglewood, CA) from about 1955 to 1963- Dad got the bug. As such I have been involved with Studebakers pretty much all of my life. I just turned 40 in July.

My favorite Studes were always the '56-'58s, so when given an opportunity to own a '58 Packard- I took it!!! I thought she'd make a nice addition to the StudeFamily I already had~

'54 Commander Regal 4 door sedan
'57 Commander Deluxe 2 door sedan
'57 Champion Custom 2 door sedan
'57 Parkview (a V8 powered 2 door wagon)
'65 Cruiser (a top of the line 4 door sedan)

now there are too many!!!

Anyway- I just wanted to say 'hi' and let you all know who I am. I look forward to enjoying this fine site along with you, and providing any input I can that may help along the way.

Hi Dave, welcome to P-Info. Neat story about Your grandfather working for Studebaker. Especially neat about being the dealer in Inglewood. I grew up there. My grandparents moved there in the late 30's. They bought a new Studebaker on the late 50's I believe. Maybe he sold it to them.

A good friend's dad worked for George M. Sutton Ford agency.

Small world,
Jim

Hi Dave

Welcome! I've been lurking here for a few years, even us Packardbaker enthusiasts are welcomed! Or at least not shunned!

You will know me as 56H-Y6 over on the SDC Forum, another of the few '56-'56 sedan lovers. Here I assume a 'Packard' moniker, you'll recognize what 58L8134 is.

This is a great place to share your interest in Packardbakers!

Steve

Welcome--and you are not alone here. I am also a fifties Stude sedan fan with a 56 President Classic, and a 58 Champion. They have their charms.
