Mal's Hershey trip. And, more!

I'm going to Hershey!

Why? The bucket list? Yes and no, this certainly will be one crossed off the list, but it was really mate Noel, tabletennissport, who persuaded me that I should do it, so Noel.

Below is a rough itinerary of my trip which, as you'll see, is very Packard-centric.

I'd like to invite others who are going to be at Hershey to say G'day. Besides Noel, Peter, Peter Packard, and his wife Ann will also be at Hershey, so there'll be more Aussies to say G'day to!.

I'll be updating this thread from time to time before the trip and will try to update it daily while in the US. But be warned, if we meet, you WILL be photographed and the images uploaded here on PackardInfo!

Thursday 4th - Arrive at Los Angeles
Friday 5th - The Nethercutt Collection - Doing the booked tour at 10am to see the collection and will view the museum in the afternoon.
Saturday 6th - Meet with BigKev, then it's off driving the Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco CA.
Sunday 7th - Detour, a big one, to Fresno CA - Meet with Howard, HH56.
Monday 8th - Dayton OH - America's Packard Museum, The Citizens Motor Company
Tuesday 9th - Warren OH - National Packard Museum - Will be joined there by Mal, randy berger hopefully in "Best Other" and Al, acolds!
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 10th, 11th, 12th & 13th - Hershey PA - Hope to meet many PackardInfo members during the course of the event.
Sunday 14th - York Springs PA - Packard Truck Show
Monday 15th - Fort Lauderdale FL - Fort Lauderdale Antique Car Museum - 22 Packards - Meeting with Joey, joeyearl for Museum tour and lunch. Later, en route, meet with Clay, ccrizor.
Tuesday 16th - Ocala FL - Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing - Besides dragsters they have a '40 160 Coupe!
Tuesday 16th - Orlando FL - Start return trip to the land down-under.
If you're in the vicinity of any of my other Museum stops before and after Hershey come and say G'day at the venues listed.

Couple of pic's to help recognise me coming or going.

We are looking forward to your visit. Glad to meet one of our Aussie brethren in person. I know several who are looking forward to Hershey also.

When in Dayton, please call. I'll try to make it down to the museum in my 1940. Or, let me know what time you plan on being there.

Also, when you're in Ocala, Florida, you probably shouldn't miss spending some time at National Parts Depot (NPD). The absolute nicest guys in the business. They don't offer Packard parts, but they have one of the largest collections of postwar cars on the planet. They just bought an all original 1947 Packard, and I believe they have a 1955-56 Caribbean as well.

West,

I fly into Dayton Monday 8th October with arrival scheduled for 10:36am. My probable plan is to pick up my rental car and go to the Museum arriving about Noon, the opening time. Would be good to see you and the '40 there and, as I warned previously, you(and the '40) will be photographed!

If you are interested the least little bit about vintage airplanes, Dayton is home to probably the world's best museum for that sort of thing. Free admission, too. I warn, you though, you need to spend more than a couple of hours there, but if that's all the time you have, I still suggest at least a quick walk through.

Mal, sounds like a great itinerary. I'm looking forward very much to meeting you at Hershey, probably at the PAC hospitality tent on Thursday but I'll be in touch before then to confirm.
