Well no comments about the screw for the Parking/Turn Signal mounting. So I mover to the other side and found the wires in worse shape and a different mounting screw. Plus the five screws for the Light Bucket are not correct. Why don't people put the correct screws back?
o'well such is life.
Wes

I have never seen the exact capture type screw you asked about on a Packard and the only cone screw in the Utility section is a Phillips head and all thread without the capture section. Nothing like that on mine as it had regular screws.

Thanks for the input Howard! Looking at the parts book it looks like my screw. So for now I guess I'll just put it back the way I took it apart. Also I need to go back to my farm and look at my Green Super Clipper. It looks like it still might have the bolts installed.
Thanks again.
Wes

The screw shown resembles a shoulder screw but it is actually a type of threaded dowel used to keep things aligned but easily removable. In this case, it keeps the lens where it belongs.

Definitely looks like your screw and that does look like a clip. I didn't see anything like the screw pictured in the utility section but maybe it is special and not a common utility item. Without buying an OCR program and running the parts list thru it there are just too many numbers to try and find it with my feeble eyeballs. Wasn't any on my car so obviously someone else didn't replace them before I got the car. Looks like there is 1 used per side.

The special screw is listed as part #371823 in Group 4.1400 for the Parking Light Assembly along with retaining ring #371834 and lock washer #6044.

Here is a photo of the complete original combination.

Thanks BDell, mystery solved! Now the next question, since the parts breakdown show the clip on the backside of the light bracket. I would think the screw would be always attach to the light bracket and never lose the screw?
This still has me scratching my head, how can one little part be so confusing? Sorry for being such a stickler for details.

Wes, don't feel bad. I'm doing the same thing on a tailpipe for a car that doesn't even run and looks ready for the crusher! The more the proper tailpipe eludes me, the more persistent I become.

Okay, found an internal star washer that would fit and a C-clip E-clip not loosing this screw, now just need to find another for the other side.

They are actually e-clips and I have plenty if you can't find one. Just tell me the size you need!
