Wow! That's the very last '54 Packard limousine built! Actually, the last Packard limousine ever built! Certainly is an interesting and worthwhile group of cars.

Were I well-healed, that '35 Super Eight Convertible Victoria could gladly consume much of my fortune for restoration....and not bother me a bit.

If someone attends, please give us a follow-up report.

Looking at the pictures I'm not sure it's a super eight, it might be an eight.

I really like both the six cylinder Clippers. If I could just convince the wife we need a fourth old car.....

All you need to do David is make your wife fall in love with it, and she'll give you the "ok" to get it.

Unfortunately, I only have a 2 car garage! I actually almost called on this one instead, but the Cleveland car was closer.

Either it's the greatest coincidence ever, or I know some of those auction Packards intimately. I don't know why they are for sale but I can find out by picking up the telephone. The 35 Super 8 is very solid with original wood that is in great shape. The body was never off the frame so the original fit has not be destroyed. I used to tell people that car was "Packards finest hour" when they looked at it. At one point I did an inventory of the parts and it looks like most were thrown together and primed for the pictures. If you look closely the glove box doors are missing. They were taken off for another car and I'll bet the knuckleheads around there put them in the trash or god knows where. It's a really dumb story about why they aren't on the car.

That '35 convertible Victoria would be a great restoration project, though on top of the purchase price is another $200K cost. I do hope there is someone with deep enough pockets to take it on. By the proportions, I'd agree that its likely a 1201 Eight rather than a 1204 Super Eight.
