Not as far as I wanted to be by today, but the rear end is back in. I am waiting for my replacement rear stabilizer bar to come it to replace the one that is cracked in two places. Pics below.

On a good note that gives me some reassurance, I took the starter and Generator into the local shop to have them tested after the rebuild. The guy said he has been in business over 50 years and he has never seen such a good self rebuild. They set it beside theirs and said, looks like it came off their bench. its great to hear you did something right.

I got new tags for starter, generator, and distributor to complete the job.

Finish pressing in the front arm bushings tomorrow and cleaning and painting the long torsion bars so I can slide them in and get the arms in. I should see my 8 new bearings for the load arms tomorrow. 72 today, Rain tomorrow, and talking snow by Friday, I think I will be slowing down soon.

Snow flying today so not going to be out on the suspension.

Carburetor is done. total rebuild / restore including anodizing. I may be spending a bit more than what is actually needed, but again I am more of a purist to keep this car as indented for quite some time.

I had Max send it out. I could of had it done for $350 locally but I opted for the full restore for $500.

It looks almost to pretty to mount on a car! The workmanship and finish looks like it was done by Daytona; if so you probably could have saved a few bucks by going direct to them. IMO they are the best of the best.

38 Deg, only a little progress today, I am finishing blasting and painting the long bars. Plan tomorrow to press in new bearing on the T/L arms and get them mounted. Given the weather, I will most likely wait till spring to wind them.

Winter plans to continue on engine assembly, transmission, and pot metal pit repair.

Long bars are complete and ready for install. I have to wait until later, I had to pick up a new rear sway bar since the original had two cracks in it. After the rear suspension is torqued down, I will install the long bars.

Great job. Nice finish on the long bars and the chassis.
May I ask what you used?

Thanks Fred D

Fred- After blasting, I use a Rust Reformer ( I prefer the kind from Harbor Freight over Rust-Oleum for this process)

I Use Rust-Oleum Professional Gloss Black High-Performance Enamel Spray. Model Number: 7579838 Menards SKU: 5576092

Rust- Oleum Metalic Silver
